Congratulations to Lee Davis for retaining his club championship title!


Abergavenny complete a clean sweep by winning division 1, division 2 and the 6-board Gwent league.


Abergavenny A are division 1 champions and Abergavenny C match the feat in division 2! Congratulations to the players of both teams.


At Christmas Abergavenny A lead division 1 having played 8, winning 6 and drawing 2. Abergavenny B are fourth.

In division 2, Abergavenny C are in third with Abergavenny D in sixth.

Congratulations to Lee Davis on winning this year's championship with a score of 4/5. John Waterfield and Zane Allford finish joint second with 3.5/5.


The Gwent 4-board leagues have now been completed. Abergavenny B and Abergavenny A finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in division 1. Abergavenny D and C finished 4th and 5th respectively in division 2.


I am sad to report that long time Abergavenny and Gwent player, John Arthur passed away on Thursday night. At the moment, we don't have details of the funeral as yet but should anyone wish to send sympathy messages to his widow, her address is: Heather Arthur, Clyro, 18 Park Crescent, Abergavenny. Individual success for Abergavenny players in the Gwent 4-board league

Peter Wood-Fisher has won both the Colin Gilbert trophy (best percentage in division 2) and the Bill Chamberlain trophy (best performance in division 2). Zane Allford won the D.O. Vaughan trophy (best performance in division 1).



Abergavenny B finish runners up in division 1.


Abergavenny A beat Abergavenny B 3-1 and Abergavenny C draw 1.5-1.5 with Abergavenny D in the recent derby games.


Abergavenny B are 2nd with Abergavenny A 3rd in division 1. In division 2 Abergavenny D are in 3rd with Abergavenny C in 5th.
